Care Guide

Timber furniture is one of the most desired and beautiful home decors - it is warm, textured and ageless. Quality wood furniture is a significant investment anticipated to last for generations. Because it is a natural product; every single piece of timber has its own colour, tone, figure and grain arrangement, and be aware that it can also expand and shrink depending on the humidity and temperature. This means that exposure to certain elements such as moisture, sun and wind can modify the moisture content and stability of the product.

We hope you love our pieces as much as we do, so we would like to share some great and easy ways to take care of your timber furniture and accessories.

 Timber Care Guide

  • It is highly recommended not to place near open fireplaces or directly under air conditioners.
  • Do not leave wet spills on timber furniture (if spills occur wipe down with a dry cloth).
  • Do not place hot or very cold items directly on timber surfaces as they tend to leave an impression that may distort the original texture of the surface.
  • Liquids containing nail polish, alcohol etc cannot be removed from timber products.
  • Rough surfaces such as unglazed ceramics can leave scratch marks.
  • It is recommended NOT to use strong cleaning solutions and solvents on timber furniture, the use of chemicals may affect and damage the finish.
  • It is strongly recommended not to drag furniture, be sure to lift and place down with care.
  • Airborne particles can construct a cloudy layer on wood that scratches the surface, therefor to clean it is recommended to use a soft dry microfibre cloth or a VERY SLIGHTLY dampened cloth can also be used (any residual moisture can be wiped away with a dry cloth)
  • When transporting your timber pieces be sure to secure, protect and wrap to avoid dents, scratches and general damage.

Fabric Care Guide

  • Professional washing or dry cleaning is recommended, or use gentle cycle not exceeding 30 degrees.
  • Do not apply detergent directly onto covers.
  • Do not place wet items on fabric upholstery.
  • If spills occur; spot clean with a damp cloth, soapy water can be used and remove excess moisture, leave in shade to dry
  • Do not use cleaning products containing bleach or brightening agents.
  • After washing, pull gently and reshape whilst damp.
  • Avoid tumble drying or drying in direct sunlight.
  • Some minor colour variation may occur as a result of washing. It is recommended to wash complete cover sets to ensure colour consistency.
  • Allow up to 5% shrinkage.
  • Occasional use of a lint remover is recommended
